Dubai

Wednesday after we woke up we went to Mall of Dubai. I first had nachos with salsa/cheddar dip and after it we had a healthy dinner at Burger King. It was some kind of promotion event for a grand open for Taco Bell, a mexican restaurant. Plenty lot of arabs and two young russians girls. It looked pretty stupid but I guess that they thought it would deluxe the event, give it a higher touch.
The mall had a ice rink and more then twenty opening soon signs on stores that will open, soon. The food court was nice otherwise we did not like that mall. We even had to look for our car in the huge car park.
Then we went to the famous Mall of Emirates. We decided to only take on floor that first time. LV, Hugo Boss, Moint Blanc and other quality brands are available there.
Then home and more Gossip Girl.
The day after we continued the Mall of Emirates tour and then after it the beach walk at Dubai Marina. It is beautful and a nice area. We went in to Jumereiah beach residence beacuse the security guard thought we lived there after I asked him how he was doing. We had night snacks at the Subway reastaurant who is open 24/7.
Then I missed a sign and drove on a oneway street, meet the most pissed of police officer ever, he could not speak any english and no social intellegence what so ever, but he got what he deserved anyway ;o)
Then home and more Gossip Girl, I am catching up with JK. Have already seen the episodes available.
Next day started with a parking guard writing us a fine, just beacuse we were 30 minutes late. And he did not even want to take a bribe, honest man ; o)
We went to Mall of Emirates, had a nice asian dinner and decided then to hit the cinema and see the new Bond movie, The Quantom of Solace. We both got a Jason Bourne feeling during the whole movie, it is not hard to guess were the inspiration came from.
Daniel Craig is doing good as 007 and also the bad guy in the movie Mathieu Amalric is an amazing actor. Both of them also known from the political movie Munich.
An arab was sitting beside me and during the movie his phone ranged, he took it up, looked who it was and then returned it into his pocket. Haha, we did not know if he was serious. First of all he had not switched it off, second of all the sound mode was still on and he did not even turned it off while it was ringing. Straight up guy.
We closed the night at Jumeirah Beach with waterpipe and drinks.

After a Entourage marathon we went to bed around 3.30 am sunday night. Season five might be the best season so far and Drama and Ari are delivering amazing lines 24/7. So after a shower we left Thorsgade for a with a taxi to Kastrup/airport.
I always do the self check-in but after have doing it today I only got my boarding card. So went to the drop-in bag section and checked in JKs bag and was amazed that they did not comment our overweight. I had at least 5-6kg and JK 2-3kg. Good for us!
An important visit at Starbucks, still can not understand how the do not prioritize Scandinavia and Sweden more, and I got one Cafe Latte Venti for JK and one Cafe Macciato Caramell Venti for me. Now it was JKs time, he had maybe 4 cigarettes during 10 minutes. I almost fellt I were in a gas chamber, like AG says - Never again!.
Got on the plane to Stockholm and after arriving we had a nice lunch at Gooh. It is the famous Operakallaren that is standing behind this idea. Gourmet food but in a outside the restaurant way. We had fish with rice and coconut fond, and a sallad. Superb!
JK told me that Arlanda was one of the worst airports visited, specially the birdsong in one of the terminals took the price, it almost feelt like a scen from a Hitchcook movie he said. So after I got my money delivery at Forex we went omboard.
We had the three seats in the end of the plane. For the record this was Norwegians second flight to Dubai, the opened this night route one week ago and the whole plane is only economy seats. The space was not enough, and for the man who was about 190cm this can not have been anything else than a long and painful trip.
We basicly sleept trough the most of it except for dinner and the latest of Enourage, we saved it for the plane, and landed in Dubai about 9 pm wich is GMT+3. It took us maybe 40 minutes to find Hertz office, it was on terminal 2 and we landed on terminal 1. We picked up our car, a Honda Civic and drove away from the aiport area wich is big.
Next stop before the hotel was KFC and after having a early breakfast with a half chicken, a burger and french fries, we went to the hotel for sleeping.
